The Boathouse has been designed using an eclectic combination of new and upcycled building materials. Care has been taken to preserve the original wooden vaulted ceiling by insulating the roof from the outside. A Jotul electric stove will keep you cozy in the winter months. You'll enjoy lake views from bed or when you stretch out on one of the two long couches. The kitchen has all the basics you need to prepare meals, including tons of counter space which doubles as space for eating. The cabin rental provides fresh linens, blankets, and towels.
The owners have multiple cabins on the property, and The Boathouse is the most private onsite. Guests have a private dock with a canoe, a campfire pit for your exclusive use, and a gas grill on the deck. You'll want to note that the canoe, dock, and gas grill are seasonal, available from late spring to late fall. Nestled in the hills of the Northeast Kingdom, Wapanacki was originally founded as a summer camp in 1938. Established as a camp for blind children, and later run by the Girl Scouts, Wapanacki has been reborn as a four-season retreat. Wapanacki is comprised of 230 acres of woodland, plus a 25-acre private lake for swimming and non-motorized boats. There are miles of trails to explore, perfect for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking and biking in the summer. There is no Wifi in the cabin, but the property does have a wifi zone. It is reliable for calls and getting online, but not for streaming movies or Zoom calls.
Kayaks and canoes are available at the beach for all guests, but the Boathouse has a private dock, canoe, and fire pit just for you. You will have access to a shared gas grill on the porch of the main clubhouse, located at the main camp; there is also a gas grill on the deck of the Boathouse from late spring to early fall. The porch has picnic tables from late spring to early fall. This is also where our Wifi zone is located. The interior of the clubhouse is private and you will not have access. The property does have multiple cabins for rent at Wapanacki, so you may have the entire property to yourself, but other renters may be there too. There is a wifi zone on the property but please be prepared to be unplugged while you are in your cabin.
