Raised by the Stuart Spear Construction company, the impressive house can be a real architectural model for your residences in a rustic environment.

Architectural Design Choices

Located in Martis Camp, the structure is imperfect by choice because the architects and designers wanted to give it a natural feeling taking into account the forest that surrounds it. The 2,032 square feet comprises 2 bedrooms, a large great room, and 1.5 baths. Reclaimed building materials were used in the build and the solitary rustic overall design is completed by the interior, which is a lovely blend of modern fixtures and decorations with vintage details.

The Impact of Built Environments

The build environment affects the way you live in many ways. It affects your emotions, where you walk, the light you see, the air you breathe, and on a larger scale your carbon footprint. At Mountain Concepts the goal is to produce functional, inspiring home designs that will provide serenity to the user and environment. Each new building project has a multitude of factors that you absorb and refine to reveal the pure design solution that will satisfy that goal. These factors define the function of the design. They are generated by the client, economic, construction, and regional specifications and include views, passive solar collection, snow shed properties, domestic function, budget, and style. Derived from the function, they create balanced compositions of relative forms with refined detail. In addition to its apparent, experiential function, a building should have an inherent function. It should sustain its existence environmentally and economically. It should provide innovation toward a balance with nature and the reduction of operating costs.

The Benefits of Green Building

The term green in the building means good design. A green building is a good building. Green technology is good technology, with better health and indoor air quality, with green homes offering higher performance, better durability, and higher quality. When it comes to sustainability, the goal is to make modern living sustainable in all aspects. Economic savings come with energy efficiency. Higher quality, less maintenance, and more durability equal savings.

The Rise of Reclaimed Wood

The use of reclaimed wood isn't a new concept, but it's seen a rise in popularity, especially with the green building and renovating boom. Reclaimed timber is simply wood with a past life used for a new purpose. Maybe the wood was used as a storage crate or an old barn that has been milled into reclaimed hardwood flooring. When you use reclaimed timber, you decrease the demand for newly sourced lumber, which helps curb deforestation. If harvested responsibly, reclaimed wood is a renewable resource that reduces landfill waste as well as the use of environmental hazards to manufacture new products.
