This Rustic Tiny Cabin Set in 10 Acres With Stunning Views

Take a look inside this rustic vacation cabin located in Whaletown, British Columbia, Canada. The cozy tiny cabin can accommodate up to 4 guests with 1 bedroom, 3 beds, and 1 bath. If you are looking for waterfront privacy and immersion in nature, this Cortes Island wood cabin set in 10 acres of forest with stunning sunset views may be what you're looking for. The cabin is equipped with Wifi, a full kitchen, and a phone. You'll want to note that rustic might not be for everyone, the cabin is reachable by 2 ferries from Campbell River, first to Quadra Island, then to Cortes Island. Cortes is a small gulf island with a progressive counter-culture vibe.

The wood cabin is fully equipped with a full kitchen, full bath with tub, WiFi, iPod dock (iPhone 4 or earlier connector), tv/DVD, and phone for local calls. The cabin has a rustic feel in harmony with nature. Downstairs you'll find an open living room, dining room, and kitchen with a wood stove and sunset views west out over Gorge Harbour. The upstairs has a large bedroom with 2 queen-sized beds and 1 double-sized bed. Surrounding the cabin are large wooden decks built into the mossy bluffs. There is a small rocky beach just below the cabin for swimming. If you'd like to explore the harbor by boat, kayaks are available for rent at the Gorge Harbour Marina which is about a 5-minute drive away.

This rustic cabin isn't for everyone so you'll want to be sure and inform yourself about the house rules before booking to ensure it is the right fit for you. The cabin is not recommended for families with young children as there aren't railings on the decks and there are steep drop-offs. For people coming from Vancouver, you will need to take 3 ferries which take about 8 hours in total so it is not suitable for a weekend trip from the city unless you are already on Vancouver Island. The furniture and the appliances in the cabin are old and funky as this is a family cabin that has changed little since the 70s, everything works of course but if you are looking for gleaming and new, this isn't the place for you.

The driveway up to the wood cabin is gravel and steep in parts. You don't need a 4WD but if there is snow on the ground you may be better off parking at the bottom of the driveway and walking the 300 meters or so up to the cabin. Once inside you'll find that the cabin is spacious with two big open rooms along with the bathroom. The upstairs is separated by an open stairway so keep in mind that you can't close a door and get full noise separation. If you've viewed the listing in previous years, the owners added a septic system and normal toilet in 2019. The whole wood cabin and the 10 acres are yours to enjoy during your vacation stay.
