The owner was inspired to build the tiny house at this stage in her life, as her children were all grown up, she was renting and didn't want to be paying rent or paying a large mortgage when she eventually retired. The deck is a very innovative design that is built in sections that work like blocks put together with screws that can be undone, and moved to another location if needed. The tiny home also has a bump out with a tiny garage-style door with the future idea of putting solar in the space, for now, it is used as storage for gardening supplies and more.

The owner's plan is eventually to go off the grid in the future.

Once inside the tiny home, you immediately notice just how open the home looks and feels. The tiny home has plenty of windows to fill the space with light, and the owner even has a piano that she plays inside the space. The living area has a comfy couch, and the storage chest doubles as a coffee table. The home has a wood stove for heating, which keeps the entire tiny home dry and comfortable when needed, especially helpful as the tiny home is located in a rainforest.
