You'll want to take a look inside this beautiful vintage barn located at Mulberry Springs, Stanardsville, Virginia. The vintage barn vacation rental can accommodate up to 3 guests with one bedroom and one bathroom. During our stay, you'll have the entire vintage barn to yourself. This spacious timber-framed barn home design sits at the wood's edge and is furnished with beautiful hand-made farm-style furniture. The vintage barn style home was designed for the artisan, with the second story windows allowing plenty of natural light to flood the entire barn space.
The barn style house has a full-sized kitchen downstairs which transitions into a living area that faces a garage door that puts your living room outside. The second floor of the vintage style home design holds a double bed, a bathroom, and a television room in open studio design, with a balcony that overlooks the living room and kitchen.
The vintage barn vacation rental was made from woodcuts and milled on the property. The ground floor of the unique vacation house is open with a kitchen area that is equipped with a stove, a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and a coffee maker. The barn style house also has a dining and informal living room. Upstairs you'll find a bedroom area, full-sized bath, and television area. You'll want to note that the barn style house is located in a semi-rural area, so there are insects such as wasps and critters which you may come across despite all of the owner's efforts. If you are allergic or sensitive to wasps, it is recommended that you stay elsewhere. Your comfort is very important to owners.
You'll also want to note that the staircase in the barn style house is very steep, so if you have trouble with stairs this is not the vacation rental for you. Also due to the rural nature and location of the barn style house, it is prone to bugs. The owners have exterminators come in regularly so bugs will die as soon as they make their way into the barn style house. The cleaners also make sure to dispose of any that make it in. That being said, you may notice bugs occasionally in the vacation rental that is just the nature of living and staying in a rural location and again if this is something that bothers you, this may not be the vacation rental that is best for you. The owners do however attempt to provide the most bug-free vacation stay possible.
Mulberry Spring is a historic Virginia property that dates back to the 1750s. Mulberry Spring was built by William Monroe, a successful landowner, and the benefactor of public education in Greene County. This beautiful 15-acre property is located in a mountainside neighborhood that hosts pre-civil war structures, authentic stacked rock walls, and a variety of fruit trees. The nearest towns to the property for shopping are Standardsville which is a 15-minute drive away or Ruckersville a 20-minute drive. Both of these towns host a variety of antique shops. Charlottesville is about a half-hour drive and has plenty of fine restaurants, entertainment opportunities, and shops.
