The Skyview is a sweet modern cabin rental in the Netherlands with great views thanks to all of the windows implemented into the design. This house pairs innovative design and building methods while staying in harmony with nature. Plus, it's also very stylish and chic, which is perfect for a relaxing vacation. It also helps that the home looks over private forest and meadowlands in the pristine countryside of the Netherlands. It's actually on the edge of a 19th-century hunting domain, so there is some history there too. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, and one is called the Bird's Nest because it's a loft space. Both bedroom spaces have king beds so the space can accommodate up to 4 guests very comfortably. There's also 1 bathroom, and it's kid and pet-friendly as well. Pets cost an extra €25 per night. There is a minimum stay of 2 nights or 3 nights on weekends and 1 week in high season. Rates start at only €135 per night through Boutique Home Rentals, which is a very decent price for an entire cabin to yourself. This cottage is the first home in a series of pre-fab home designs created by Arno Schuurs and Paulien van Noort of Getaway Projects agency. The designers created the cottage as their prototype and a show model for a holiday home. It was built in two prefab sections in a factory, and then the pieces were shipped out to the building site and installed onto a screw foundation above ground.
They used all natural building materials that are energy efficient and sustainable, plus low maintenance. Some of the materials include Oregon Pine planks for the exterior siding, Oak fishbone flooring, concrete and some raw steel. The designers wanted it to be a mix of the traditional cottage with modern style. Even though the cottage has a smaller footprint, the large windows welcome views and create expansion within the cottage. The main living area has a sunken seating area with a nice wood burning fireplace and built-in seating. The perfect spot to relax with loved ones and enjoy some time together. There's also some great built-in shelving as well which is painted black and offers a really striking juxtaposition from all of the wood. In the same space but up a step, there is a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances including a fridge and an oven built into the wall. There's also the sink and the built-in gas range on the island countertop as well. The tile work is a dark charcoal grey, almost black with splatters on it for some decorative flair.
There is one sleeping area on the main level with a cozy bed, and then the loft space is also very cute with access by a vertical staircase and lots of light from the windows surrounding the bed. Besides relaxing in the beautiful cottage, there is also lots to do around the property itself. There are also a few different walking paths on the property including one that leads to a hammock, a swing, a climbing rope, and then also different seating areas. So you can also bring a little picnic with you and enjoy a meal on your adventure. Apparently, the best time to visit the area of Lettele in the Netherlands is in the spring through the fall for milder weather and beautiful scenery. There is plenty to explore in the area as well. There is Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park just a fifteen-minute drive away from the cottage. The medieval city of Deventer is only a twenty-minute drive away, and the historic cities of Zutphen and Lochem are 30 minutes while Amsterdam is an hour and a half away.
