The shepherd's hut is just a 1/2 hour from the incredible North Norfolk Coast and only minutes from Roydon Common and Grimston Warren. The use of the hot tub requires a fee for the logs.
The shepherd's hut is protected from the elements by the beautiful fir forest. This location has some incredible mature oaks, weeping beech, weeping willow, and firs. There are areas throughout the site of open spaces or more dense woodland. You can access 250 acres to the rear of the site named Congham Heath. This is a beautiful walk or bike ride of undulating ground. The Happy Valley houses have a variety of nature guests such as black darter dragonfly, deer, birds of prey, butterflies, pheasants, rare long-eared bats, Nightjar and bees. There is a heron that often sits on the pond eyeing up its dinner. Grimston Warren and Roydon common sit on the edge of Grimston which are the beautiful Heathland Restoration projects that house a rich mosaic of habitats. You'll want to bring your bikes, as there are great trails through the woods.
Access to the shepherd's hut is through the farm entrance to the East of Washpit Cottage. You'll want to bring along your towels, toiletries, sleeping bags or duvet. The glamping shepherds hut is on a hill of fir trees so you'll want to bring appropriate footwear. Logs for fire pit and barbecue coal or Hamper's bedding are available at an additional fee.
The shepherd's hut is a rural venue on the picturesque Massingham Road, located at the mouth of the valley, surrounded by the sounds of nature. This vacation rental is the perfect place to get back to nature and feel the earth underneath you. To get to the cozy cabin retreat you will need some sort of transport. Taxis are available for bookings in the area, and there are a few bus stops in Grimston just a mile away. Bikes are always welcome, with the perfect route for cyclists.
